The historic building boasts uniquely designed rooms that provide a genuine sense of charm. Our beautiful room featured a spacious layout alongside a large bathroom.
Noise from street activity, including truck deliveries and loud church bells, disrupted our sleep. The shower sink emitted a foul odor, impacting our comfort.

The hotel is in a good location - close to the old part of the City and within walking distance from the cheese market and train station. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts are good. The bedrooms are large and recently refurbished.
The first room that I was allocated had a really bad drain smell in the bathroom (room 101). As soon as I mentioned it to the manager he offered to move me to another room. This room smelled fine, but was at the front of the hotel, and was very noisy at night. It would have been good to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room, and a supply of tissues! Small things make a difference.

Warm welcome. Helpful staff. The breakfast was good with many options from scrambled eggs and bacon or smoked salmon, to cereals, cheese, ham, yoghurts, bread and croissants and even Bucks Fizz if that was your choice!
It is easy to find a fault wherever you go, but in this case any problems we encountered were solved by staff. Some building work was going on in an extension to the hotel and the street was noisy. As we had asked for a quiet room, we were given one at the rear far away from the building work and street noise so, unlike some of our party, we weren't disturbed. The building work is fast approaching completion, so shouldn't be an issue soon.

Had a great stay! The central location made exploring the town super easy, and the breakfast had a nice variety. Staff helped set up a cot for our baby, a lifesaver! Just wish the bed had been a bit firmer for better sleep.

Beautiful old building. Downstairs (restaurant / breakfast room) had very nice character (the old oak floors and blue stone). Excellent location if staying in Alkmaar (in the center of town, on a shopping and restaurant street - but not on the "bar" street, which could be loud).

Was right in the centre of Alkmaar and we were visiting the cheese market
We were there during fair time and it was very busy and noisy until 11.00pm. Cooking smells in our rooms and also a sewer smell from the showers

Great location right in the heart of Alkmaar. Convenient access to local markets and restaurants made exploring easy. The room was spacious and clean with a cozy atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the ample space for my belongings and the fresh linens provided. Breakfast had a nice variety, but on one morning, many items ran out before I could grab them. I think more planning could help ensure a better experience during busy times.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is great and the rooms are really comfortable. The hotel food is extremely good and there is a selection of very fine restaurants in the locality. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
There is no on-site parking - there is an underground public parking about 300m walk and from memory it is about €10 per day.
